Healthy eating is very important for people of all ages, especially children and teenagers. Juveniles cannot be called either adults or children. Therefore, it is very important to have a healthy diet during your teenage years so that you can later take responsibility for life. The parents of these teenagers need to be very careful in choosing the right diet and foods because the energy needs of these teenagers are generally different and higher than the other age groups.

Balanced nutrition

A teenager’s diet should be balanced, containing the right combination of minerals, vitamins E, B, C, carbohydrates, protein, fiber, fat, and plenty of liquid foods and other fluids.

Protein is very important for muscle and bone growth in teenagers. Protein is the basic energy source. There are several high-protein foods like milk, yogurt, soybeans, cheese, and low-fat milk. Dried fruits are also rich in protein and calcium and are much needed for teenage growth. Most importantly, the above foods are very important if the person is a vegetarian as they do not have access to high protein non-vegetarian foods. The other foods that contain protein are chana, karamani, rajma and dal.

carbohydrate

Carbohydrates are a very important substance for teenage growth. Potatoes and milk are the main sources of it, and another source is Maze, roasted grains, rice, and wheat.

High-fiber food

Adolescents need lots of vitamins and high-fiber foods. The main sources of high-fiber foods are green vegetables, muffins, buns, wheat, corn, apples, oranges, green peas, strawberries, and raspberries.

Iron is very important for teenagers to build strong muscles and bones. Your normal diet should include a good and balanced intake of iron. In fact, teenage girls need more iron than boys because they lose iron during the menstrual cycle. For non-vegetarians, red meat, especially fish, is a good source of iron. In addition, fortified cereals, legumes, green vegetables, beans and lentils are also rich sources of iron. Along with food containing vitamin C like orange and lemon, it is very important for teenage growth. Fruit juices, raisins and dates are also good sources of iron.
